Indira Tibblin created Thimble as an ethical business based on Fair Trade principles that’s sole purpose is to create job opportunities and training in new skills for the local women of Talahena, a small fishing village on the western coastline of Sri Lanka. The women now work from a purpose built workshop housed in a new building designed in the style of the traditional Dutch Sri Lankan houses where they create their beautiful hand-stitched and painted products.
