Our fun new dryer balls add a touch of whimsy to washing day while also saving you time and money.
Now that’s good for the planet!
Like all our products, ECOMAX dryer balls are ethically crafted, hand-felted in Nepal at a World Fair Trade Organisation (WFTO) workshop, and made from 100% natural New Zealand Wool.
So how do dryer balls work?
It’s all about the action. The tumbling motion of the balls keeps clothing separate, cutting drying time by up to 25%. Wool balls also absorb excess water quickly, further reducing drying time.
Additionally, the movement of the balls around your clothing acts as a natural fabric softener and stops your clothes becoming tangled, reducing wrinkles and static.
Why choose a natural fabric softener?
Here is a fun fact: If you love soft, fluffy towels, and think more fabric softener is the answer, think again! While fabric softener makes clothes feel soft, it actually coats them in silicone oil (Polydimethylsiloxane or PDMS) which reduces their ability to absorb water and detergent. This is especially problematic for towels, whose main job is to absorb water! Over time, fabric softener buildup can even hinder effective dirt removal, shortening the lifespan of your clothes. Not good for the Planet!
How many Wool Dryer Balls do you need?
- 3-4 balls – small to medium load
- 5-6 balls – medium to large load
Care for your Dryer Balls
As you are only throwing them in with clean washing they don’t need to be washed themselves, just dried after each load.
Simply pop them in the sun to dry. My dryer balls live on a sunny window sill so I get to enjoy them every time I do the washing, even if it’s not wet and I’m not using my dryer.
Long lasting pure wool balls can be used over and over again…for more than a 1000 loads.
Now that is good for the Planet!
